Sembada 188 is our high-yield hybrid rice variety among the imported seeds to date. The seeds were imported from Indonesia through Yaz & Wyn Enterprise, a local company appointed as the sole distributor for Brunei Darussalam.
The Sembada 188 seed requires 110 days to mature thus making it our fastest yielding variety of all, and it has an average yield of 4-6 metric tons per hectare (mt/ha). The Sembada 188 paddy can grow up to 110cm and it also has about 14 rice stalks altogether, with an average length of 26.8cm. The approximate weight of Sembada 188 per 1000 rice seeds is 28.4g.
Before choosing Sembada 188, a research project underwent planting trials which includes Sembada B9, Sembada 626, Sembada 168, and Sembada 989 variety. Out of all, Sembada 188 can produce twice the yield compared to the other varieties. Moreover, Sembada 188 can yield twice the volume of Laila too!
